Waffles

Sunday mornings often times means waffles or pancakes here. I have mentioned the old Betty Crocker Cookbook that mom used when we were growing up. Here is the waffle recipe from that book. These are delicious. By the way, ours were always square, never round. Nice and crisp like they should be.

CRISP WAFFLES

2 eggs
1 3/4 C milk
1/2 C butter or margarine, melted, or vegetable oil
2 C flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 T sugar
1/2 tsp salt

Heat waffle iron. Beat eggs with hand beater until fluffy; beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth. Pour batter from cup or pitcher onto center of hot, (and Pam sprayed), waffle iron. Bake until steaming stops, about 5 minutes. Remove waffle carefully. Makes 3 10-inch waffles.
